My
seven year old son is recovering from a bone marrow transplant for AML.
He is doing well and almost off of immune suppressants. I would like
to start supplementing his diet with vitamins and herbals. I am finding
it hard to locate good pediatric info on nutritional supplements. What
would you recommend as the best vitamin and herbal supplements for him?
Thank You.
Thank you
for visiting my web site. I highly recommend that you consult with the
Registered Dietitian and Oncologist at your son's cancer treatment facility
to ask these questions. They will be able to give you an answer that
is both individualized in-depth based on your son's particular medical
history and nutritional needs.
For some
general information about pediatric usage of herbs, dietary supplements,
and nutrition, I suggest the following two web sites:
Harvard
Columbia
University, NYC
May I suggest
that you also read another Q&A
written for another family.
My very
best wishes to your son for a long, healthy, and fulfilling life! :-)

Diana,
I am a student entering the field of dietetics. One of my assignments is
to find a Registered Dietitian on-line, view the web site, and ask a few
questions. I am very impressed by your web page. I do hope you have a few
minutes to answer a few questions. posted
